Prattville Holds Public Hearing on Proposed Budget
Dozens turned out to voice their opinions about the mayor's proposed budget in Prattville.
Last year, the city had to make some significant cuts in the budget.
Now, the public is concerned more will be made this year.
At the hearing, many had questions about some appropriated funds and they feared more city programs would be lost.
Some say it'll take a few more years of cuts to get the finances in order.
"You gotta put the confidence in your mayor and your city councilmen that they're looking out for the best for the citizens, the city employees, all the department heads are doing all that they can possibly to cut and trim to help out and that's all we can continue to do," Sgt. Mark Rhodes, Prattville resident.
As a part of his proposed budget, the mayor is asking the council to extend the one-cent sales tax increase for five more months.
