Political Analysis from Steve Flowers

By Alabama News Network

Political Analyst Steve Flowers was on Alabama News Network at 6:00 to talk about the political debate over the private school tax credits and whether the issue will affect the 2014 state elections.

Flowers says the tax credit bill was "half-baked" and has turned out to be unpopular with voters. Gov. Robert Bentley wants to put a two-year delay on giving parents tax credits for shifting their children from failing public schools to put them into non-failing public schools or private ones.

Flowers says that may be Bentley's way of killing the legislation. He says this issue may play a role in next year's state elections, when Bentley and all legislators will be up for re-election.
