Troy Murder Suspect Captured in California, Returning to Alabama

After fleeing to California, the suspect in the shooting death of 29-year old Melissa Shipman will be returning to Alabama.
 
33-year old Suroy Wheeler waived extradition in Oxnard, California and is expected to be back in Troy within the next two weeks. Upon arrival he will be incarerated to face the murder charges against him in this case.
 
Police believe Wheeler shot and killed Melissa Shipman last October 27th around 3:00 p.m. at her Troy Villa Appartment on Henderson street.
 
Wheeler's bond has been set at $100,000 dollars.
