A rash of shootings in Montgomery has left neighbors concerned for their safety, and begging for the city to take new action.
Montgomery Police are investigating the cause of a shooting at the gas station on Southern Boulevard on Wednesday morning. While police won't confirm it, eyewitnesses tell CBS 8 the shooting is related to prostitution.
"You definitely worry about your safety, and the safety about the community, so I am really concerned that nothing more is being done to stop these kind of things," says Charles Glover who works in the area.
In a CBS 8 News Extra that aired last week, we showed you the prostitution business happening on our city blocks.
Residents like Joey Stuckey say prostitution brings crime, and he says the crime has been on the South Boulevard For far too long.
"I guess you can hope for change, but it isn't going to happen," he says.
On Tuesday evening, just up the street on Collinwood Avenue, police are also investigating a shooting that left two people injured.
Both shootings happened in City Councilman David Burkette's district. His Chief of Staff Jimmy McFarland says they are working hard to clean up the streets.
"The Southern Boulevard has pretty much been a thorn in our side for quite a while. Hopefully with an increase of patrols over there, and more community education and police being more, you know, neighborhood friendly and more pedestrian friendly, maybe we can get something done," he says.
City Councilman CC Calhoun weighs in.
"It goes back to education. You know, people get caught up in emotion," Calhoun says. "We have got to continue to educate people with consequences."
Stuckey says he has become accustomed to crime . Something he never thought he would say.
"It happens all the time. A guy got stabbed out here the other day. It's normal I guess to me now," he says.
Police are releasing very little details in both cases, but they did say the victim in this morning's shooting is being uncooperative.
No arrests have been made in either case.
