Pike Road Murder Suspect Arrested

CBS 8 News has confirmed that the suspect in a murder case in the Montgomery County town of Pike Road has been arrested.

Montgomery Co. Sheriff D.T. Marshall tells CBS 8 News Jason Ferguson was arrested at Evergreen Estates off Troy Highway in Montgomery this afternoon.

Deputies say Ferguson is suspected of shooting and killing 19-year-old James McCollum yesterday at McCollum's home in the Bridlebrook subdivision.

Investigators say the shooting stemmed from a burglary attempt.

Senseless does not come close to describing this crime. A family is ruined by the actions of this waste of oxygen I wish the Dad had been able to kill him also, maybe death row can get him

How could anybody defend this guy?! He took an innocent kids life. He doesn't deserve to be defended!

Thank God they caught this thug! Hopefully, justice will be swift and finale. I have seen "some" trying to defend him, but what is there to defend? He was in a home, to commit a crime, with a gun. There is no way to defend his actions.
