Opp Police chief, Nickey Carnley, is set to retire October 31 after serving law enforcement across Covington County for more than 30 years.

He's been with Opp Police Department since 1980 and spent about eight years with Covington County's Sheriff's Office. He's spent the last four years as chief of the department. Until the new administration takes over and picks a chief, assistant chief -- Mike McDonald -- will fill his spot.

The Opp Police chief is getting ready for retirement.
