Throughout the month of March, Old Alabama Town is offering a number of free walking tours to see the History of Montgomery .
A walking tour Sunday was led by historians Dr. Richard Bailey and Mary Anne Neeley through downtown. Walkers learned about how Monroe Street used to be the liveliest street in town.
The tour included a stop at the Montgomery Theatre where future presidential assassin John Wilkes Boothe performed.
More than 30 people showed up to learn about some great local history.
If you'd like to take a stroll through Old Alabama Town, you can get more information about the walking tours on their website at www.oldalabamatown.com.
