Should Alabama's ABC liquor stores be replaced with ones that are privately owned?
That's what one lawmakers says he'll propose in the upcoming legislative session.
State Senator Arthur Orr of Decatur says the current setup is outdated and costing the state $46 million annually.
His proposal says Alabama should get rid of all ABC stores by October first.
But the ABC board's warehouse director says the retail stores bring in more money for the state than private stores would.
There are 169 ABC liquor stores in Alabama.

The ABC stores should have been closed years ago. Waste of money
