New Popemobile Manufactured In Alabama

By Alabama News Network

Pope Francis will be driving around in a new Popemobile this week, thanks to a little help from some Alabama autoworkers.

Pope Francis received the keys to his brand new ride this week.

The car is a converted Mercedes Benz M-Class SUV, which is manufactured at the Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa.

After that, the vehicle was shipped to Germany, where workers turned it into the new Popemobile.

The rear of the Popemobile has a Papal throne, and a raised roof with glass walls, that allows the Pope to wave at the crowds.
