From the CBS 8 West Alabama Newsroom-- People in Wilcox County have another option available to them to get quality, affordable healthcare.

The Rural Health Medical Program is opening a new community healthcare clinic in Camden. Health officials say the need for health services is generally greatest in high poverty areas like Wilcox County.

The new clinic charges patients based on their ability to pay and provides a medical safety net for an under-served segment of the community. The clinic is located at the old Board of Education building on Highway 221 in Camden.

The project is funded by a federal grant to help improve public health.
