New Mayor Named in Tallapoosa Co. Town of Jackson's Gap

The Tallapoosa County town of Jackson's Gap has a new mayor.

Jeff Walker is the town's new mayor. He was appointed by the town's council.

Walker previously served on the council and was interim mayor.

He inherits the seat from Janis Canham, who died in August. Canham was re-elected by popular vote about a month after her death.

That left the town council to fill her seat.
