Native American Heritage Day at Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts
A big crowd gathered at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts to celebrate Alabama's Native American Heritage.
It's part of a partnership with the Poarch Band of Creek Indians.
The Poarch Creek are descendants of a segment of the original Creek Nation, which once covered almost all of Alabama and Georgia.
Today they shared aspects of their heritage with an afternoon of storytelling drumming by Medicine Tail.
Which included dancing with the Tribe's popular Pow Wow Club.
Poarch Creek artisans also showcased art and let people try their hand at medallion making, weaving and clay work in the Creek tradition.
