Montgomery Zoo Sky Lift Update

Tools

By Lisa Blackwell

Remember the zoo's sky lift project?

It may not be up, but it's still in the works.

Mayor Todd Strange says they had to go back to the drawing board on the project.

Also, the project is privately funded and more fundraising was necessary.

Safety was a concern as well.

Todd Strange, Mayor, Montgomery, says “You got to make sure from a safety standpoint you’re doing it right and it takes a local engineer being able to stamp the documents so we got our TCU which is our owners representative our construction manager involved in it about six months ago and I believe we are there I believe we can start construction probably in the next 30 to 45 days.”

The sky lift could be up and running by next spring.
