Montgomery police make an arrest in the murder of a Cloverdale woman.
Fifty two year old Gordon Fowler was arrested and charged with murder for the death of forty one year old Lori Skinner Thomas.
She was found dead from a knife wound in her apartment at 327 Cloverdale Road Sunday morning around 8:15 a.m.
Police say the two knew each other and the murder stemmed from a verbal altercation that turned physical.
Neighbors say they’re shocked at such a violent crime occurring on their quiet street.
Clarice Crosby, a neighbor in the same apartment building, says, “Lori was a very sweet girl, very quiet, we all kind of keep to ourselves around here but we come together in times of trouble and we would just see her, me and the other tenants, we would see her in passing getting into our cars, going to work and she was always smiling and always happy.”
Ward Chesser, a neighbor, says “I was very shocked it’s very quiet, peaceful and beautiful neighborhood and in the last 22 years I’ve lived here there’s been four murders but all the perpetrators have been caught within a timely fashion.”
This is Montgomery’s fourth murder in 2012.
