Montgomery Pedestrian Killed In Early Morning Traffic Accident

A pedestrian lost his life in early morning traffic accident.

The crash happened just before 3:30 a.m. on the Selma Highway between Old Hayneville Road and Ala-tex Road.

Police say the driver, 23-year old Jaleesa Austin of Montgomery was traveling eastbound and hit 38-year old John Allen Thomas of Montgomery. Thomas died from injuries he experienced in the collision.

Police tell CBS-8 News alcohol played a factor in the accident.

This is Montgomery's 15th traffic fatality of the year.
