Montgomery Man Receives Sentencing for Shooting Police Dog

By CBS-8 Reporter

A Montgomery man is sentenced today for pleading guilty to shooting a police dog.

Frank Raven was sentenced to 21 years behind bars today.

Twenty of those years are for the robbery and one is for the attempted killing of a police dog.

Raven robbed a Title Cash on Atlanta Highway late last year and fled into a nearby neighborhood.

Bodi, a German shepherd, found him hiding in a shed.

Raven shot at Bodi as the dog advanced to capture him.

He lost his left eye and retired to live with his handler.

Bodi died July 28th at the age of 11 of an unrelated illness.
