Montgomery Investigates City's 31st Murder

A family's Christmas day ends with a tragic loss after one of their own is murdered in Montgomery.

Authorities say it happened around 8:20 Sunday night on Larchmont Drive, just off the Southern Boulevard.

Police went to the home after receiving calls of a person shot. When they arrived, they found 25-year old Jervain Mushat suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this point, authorities believe a verbal altercation lead to the incident. Mushat was a resident at the home where he was shot.

Authorities have not made an arrest and are still looking for a suspect.

If you have information on this crime you're asked to call MPD at 334-241-2651.

This is the city’s 31st homicide this year.
