A cat named Beowulf lives to see another day and he has Montgomery Fire and Rescue to thank for that.

Authorities responded to a house fire on Crystan Road off Atlanta Highway Monday.

No one was inside the home at the time of the fire but there was a cat.

Authorities rescued the cat and fire medics had to perform CPR.

The home received moderate damage but authorities are happy to report that Beowulf is as healthy as ever.
