It wasn't the Easter Bunny bringing smiles to kids faces today, it was the Montgomery County Sheriff's office and their annual Easter egg hunt.

Colored eggs were scattered and kids took off to fill their baskets from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. on the Auburn University Montgomery campus.

Only children 12 and under were allowed to collect the eggs with yummy treats and sometimes even prizes tucked inside.

But today was not just about egg hunting.

"This is a great opportunity for us...for the sheriff's office," said Montgomery County Sheriff Derrick Cunningham.

"It's just a good way to give back to the community and let the kids know that we appreciate them, and we're here for them.

Children and their parents were able to meet Deputy Dave, Chief Cunningham, and the staff of Montgomery County Sheriff's Office.
