Arrest Made in Murder of Montgomery Gas Station Clerk

The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a Montgomery man in connection with the murder of M-B Manik. He was shot and killed during a robbery of the Mobile Road store in which he worked. 

Jerry Purnell was charged with murder late Saturday afternoon and transported to the Montgomery County jail where he is being held without bond.

M.B. Manik of Montgomery was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries where he was later pronounced dead. 

Manik was shot at the 1400 block of Mobile Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say he was shot in the course of a robbery of the store.
