Former Montgomery Firefighter admitted soliciting a child

former Montgomery firefighter has been sentenced to jail after he plead guilty to soliciting a child under 16 years of age. ohn Montague was arrested in November of 2011 on charges of using a cell phone to solicit the victim at both Birmingham-Southern College and at Edgewood Academy in Elmore. He was sentenced in Autauga County Court today to 96-months. He'll serve six months in jail, 36-months of supervised probation, and register as a sex offender for life. ontague was placed on administrative leave by the Montgomery Fire Department after his arrest.
