A body found in the Alabama River has been identified as that of a missing Wilcox County man.

Wilcox County Sheriff Earnest Evans says dental records were used to confirm the identity of Stephen Davis of Lower Peachtree, who had been missing since February.

Evans says Davis' body was pulled from the river in Monroe County about three weeks ago.

Evans says the case will also remain open in Wilcox County.
