An Alabama soldier was laid to rest Sunday after his remains were returned to his hometown.

Master Sergeant Olen Williams was buried in his full uniform in his hometown of Clanton.

Williams was a part of the invasion of Normandy but was reported missing in action while fighting in the Korean War sixty three years ago.

His family ,from all across the state including the Montgomery area, submitted DNA while attending a meeting for unaccounted for soldiers.

Just two months ago the family found out Williams was buried in Hawaii

His remains were shipped back here to be buried with the rest of his family
