Marbury Mother Searches For Her Missing Daughter

Autauga County Sheriff's Office is asking for your help in locating two missing Marbury teen girls. Authorities say the two went missing Wednesday morning after they were dropped off for school.

Chelsea Ashley and Cymone Stroup are both 14 years olds and are close friends. Authorities tell CBS 8 News the two are runaways. Something Stroup's mother can't believe.

"When the officer came to interview me Wednesday night, he said, 'Could your child have possibly run away?' I said, 'No!'" says Lisa Stroup, mother of Cymone.

Stroup says her daughter didn't pack a bag. She says everything was left behind including her cell phone charger, her clothes and shoes.

"She's only 14! Anything can happen to anybody," she says. "Especially a child that's inexperienced."

Authorities say they've been looking for Cymone Stroup and her friend Chelsea Ashley since Wednesday.

They say the two were spotted at a Walmart in Millbrook Thursday evening.

Stroup says she hopes her daughter is safe, and if she's listening, she's asking for one thing.

"Just come home. Just come home. Please come home," she says as she wipes the tears from her face.

CBS 8 News did get in touch with Chelsea Ashley's mother. She says she was unable to talk to us, because she was at work.

If you have seen the two girls or know of their whereabouts, please contact the Autauga County Sheriffs Office at (334) 361-2500.

Thankful that Cymone was found safely. I'm bothered by the fact that Chelsea's mother passed up the opportunity to be interviewed in regards to her MISSING CHILD because she was at work. Are you kidding? What's your priority? It's wrong for Chelsea to run away, but....ummmmmmmm....HELLO! I don't know the story of this family and I pray all is well, but come on. Rallying for your child's safe return home should be the only WORK your completing. SHEESH.....
