A man is sentenced for burning his niece so severely that she lost both of her legs and an arm.
Brian Crumpton will spend five years in prison for throwing a boiling pot of collard greens on his niece, Jessie Crumpton West.
She suffered second- and third-degree burns and eventually needed both legs and part of her right arm amputated.
Brain Crumpton pleaded guilty to assault after jurors deadlocked on a more serious charge.
The judge also ordered Crumpton to pay almost 1 and-a-half million dollars in restitution.
