Police Arrest, Charge Three Men in Montgomery's 17th Murder

By Heather VacLav

After a man was shot and killed early this morning, Montgomery Police arrested and charged three men with the city's 17th murder.

Police are charging 20-year old Ian Dunklin, 24-year old Jerome Hayes, and the victim's older brother 24-year old Tremaine Patterson, with Felony Murder for killing 20-year old Devontay Patterson.

The suspects and victim are all of Montgomery.

Around 3:30 this morning, Montgomery Police were called to break up a fight at the 5600 block of Carmichael Road.  At the scene officers found several people gathered around Devontay Patterson suffering from life threatening gun shot wounds.

Patterson was transported to Jackson Hospital but later died from his injuries. The men being charged with his death are being held at the Montgomery County Detention facility, each under a $75,000 bond.

Patterson's murder is still under investigation...no other information is available at this time.
