Man Charged with Killing His Grandfather in Crenshaw Co.

By Alabama News Network

The grandson of an elderly man killed in Crenshaw County has been arrested and charged with his murder.

The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office says 21-year-old William Sexton has been charged with killing 88-year-old Pleo Thomas Sexton.

Pleo Sexton was found dead in his living room in the Sardis Community off County Road 17 last month.

District Attorney Charlotte Tesmer says this type of crime is unimaginable to her.

"We had been looking at several people before arresting Mr. Sexton. I can't imagine a grandson killing his grandfather. It's just horrible," Tesmer told Alabama News Network.

Investigators still aren't saying how the grandfather died.

Tesmer says William Sexton attended his grandfather's funeral.
