Man Arrested in Connection with Montgomery's 18th Homicide

By CBS-8 Reporter

The Montgomery Police Department has arrested a local man in connection with the shooting death earlier this week of 41-year-old Walter Lee Frazier.

Police tell CBS 8 News that detectives charged 37-year-old Jorry Calhoun with murder after taking him into custody Friday morning. Calhoun was transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, where he was being held under a $75,000 bond.
This comes after Montgomery Police responded to  the 600 block of Upchurch Circle around 7:30 Wednesday evening. Police say Frazier was shot multiple times during a verbal disagreement and was transported to Baptist Medical Center South where he later died from his injuries.
MPD’s investigation indicates that Calhoun and Frazier knew each other. This is Montgomery’s 18th homicide in 2012.
