Lucy Baxley Defeated in PSC President's Race

By CBS 8 News

After a long and succesful political career, Tuesday night marked what is likely the end for Democrat Lucy Baxley.

Baxley says that she can't see herself wanting to return to the political arena after losing to Republican challenger Twinkle Cavanaugh.

Besides serving as president of the Public Service Commission, she also once served as Lt. Governor.

Baxley says she's thankful to all those to supported her during the campaign.

Alabama's Republican party now has complete political control of all three branches of state government.
