Liquor License Approved for Victoryland

By CBS 8 News

Victoryland is one step closer to reopening its doors.

A spokesperson for the Macon County Commission says the liquor license for Victoryland was approved Wednesday morning.

On Tuesday, Macon County officials, school board members and charities gathered at VictoryLand to say they have signed resolutions calling on the casino to reopen.

Tuskegee mayor Johnny Ford expects the casino to be open by Christmas.

The gaming facility has been closed for more than two years.
