Legal Analyst James Anderson was Live on Alabama News Network at 6:00 as we await the verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.
Zimmerman is on trial in Sanford, Florida. He is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin last year. Zimmerman says it was a case of self-defense.
Anderson says two big factors in the trial were the decision not to put Zimmerman on the stand and the judge's allowance of manslaughter as a possible conviction option, which the defense had fought.
Anderson says the case has proceeded in a similar way to as it would have in Alabama, except that there's a six-person jury, instead of a 12-member jury, which is common in Alabama.
