Authorities are searching for three juveniles who escaped from the Mount Meigs Department of Youth Services Facility over the weekend.

Montgomery County Sheriff D.T. Marshall says the juveniles attacked staff members at the facility. One of the staff members was beaten, and lost a thumb and some teeth in the attack. They then stole keys and a van belonging to the worker and drove it a short distance.

The juveniles are from different parts of the state.

The Mt. Meigs Department of Youth Services facility rehabilitates teens who have been convicted of crimes.
