(Washington, DC) -- Tuskegee Mayor Johnny Ford says a reception honoring the Tuskegee Airmen was held in D.C. last night.
Ford says the American Bar Association sponsored the reception in honor of Leroy Battle, who fought with the airmen during World War II.
The fact that today's inauguration coincides with the holiday in honor of Reverend Martin Luther King is significant. He says without the Civil Rights struggle, especially fifty years ago, Barack Obama would never have been elected President of The United States.
