High Speed Chase in Opp on 331 Ends in Crash, Arrests

A high speed police chase Saturday ended with a car crash around 9:00 p.m. on Highway 331.

Police say a 17-year old runaway from Tennessee and a 20-year old passenger from Texas were pulled over for speeding, but ran from police, spiking 100 mph on Highway 299.

While being chased by police, their stolen car hit another vehicle at the intersection of 299 and 331, but no one was seriously injured.

After the crash, the two suspects ran on foot, but were quickly arrested.

The juvenile driver is being charged with breaking multiple laws and traffic violations.The two suspects were attempting to bring stolen property into the state.
