Greek Orthodox Church Prepares for 65th Annual Labor Day Barbecue

By Alabama News Network

The Greek Orthodox Church in Montgomery is getting ready for its 65th Labor Day cook-off Monday.

And after 65 years, they've perfected the tradition. Church members are cooking more than 1,500 pounds of pork, plus chicken, stew and for those of you with a sweet tooth--traditional greek pastries.

The barbecue is the largest and oldest labor day barbecue in montgomery. All of the money it raises goes to help fund the church and its mission projects. Serving will begin at 9 A.M., but organizers say the food is usually gone by noon, so you'll want to get there early.
