Golden Dragon Copper Plant in Wilcox Co. Taking Shape

By George McDonald

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- More progress in the construction of the Golden Dragon copper plant in Wilcox County, which promises to change the county's future.

George Alford with the Wilcox County Industrial Development Authority says the plant will be finished by the end of the year.
Alford says it's expected to bring about 500 jobs to the area. He says it has already brought a new attitude about the county's future.

"The biggest thing is a positive attitude," said Alford. "I think we've got a better attitude in this community in Wilcox County than we've had in years and we just want to build on that."

Golden Dragon Copper is a Chinese company. The plant is being built in the community of Sunny South and represents a $100 million dollar investment.
