This week, Alabama News Network visits Charles Henderson High School in Troy to recognize a special teacher for an outstanding job in the classroom.

This week's Golden Apple Teacher is high school math teacher Shannon Taylor.

Teaching her students how to do math is important to Taylor, but she isn't limited to just numbers and books.

For Taylor, life lessons are important to teach, too... And because of that, her students say that the lessons they've learned from her have changed their lives forever.
