Dogs of all shapes and sizes gathered together in Blount Cultural Park today for the second annual Bark for Life event.
Every year, Bark for Life raises money for cancer research through the American Cancer Society.
Today there was a tribute and survivors walk, demonstrations by the Montgomery Sheriff Department's K-9 companions, and a pet costume contest.
Dr. Donny Goodwin, chairman and sponor of the event, says these kinds of events are a great opportunity for dog lovers to interact with each other in the community.
"Any event that raises money and brings awareness to to the American Cancer Society is a good event," Goodwin said.
The Bark for Life event is the kick-off fundraiser for Relay for Life which will be held May 17th at Crampton Bowl.
