School officials have decided that a former elementary school will be sold at auction.

The Dallas County School Board on Monday approved a plan to hold a public auction for Shiloh Elementary School in Sardis.

The school closed at the end of the 2012-2013 school year due to a dramatic drop in enrollment.

An auction date hasn't been set. School board attorney John Pilcher estimated that it would likely take place at the Dallas County Courthouse in early August.
