A former Montgomery police officer is under arrest on a drug-related charge

The Montgomery Police Department says Corporal Lyvanh Rasavong was arrested this afternoon by the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.

Rasavong resigned from the Montgomery Police Department this morning in connection with an ongoing investigation, according to department officials.

Rasavong had worked for the police department since 1998. He worked the police desk at headquarters.
