Former Alabama Coach Named Luverne High School Head Coach

By Catalina Trivino

Former Alabama Coach Mike Dubose has returned to the high school ranks...

He was just hired as head coach for Luverne High School. A meet-and-greet was held on Tuesday with the football team and other coaches.

This is his second time with the Tigers. He coached them in 2003 and 2004, leading them to the state championship game in 2003. He tells us he's excited to be back and he has lots to teach the new team.

"If we win football games, but they don't win in life, then I've failed them," Said Dubose. "So, hopefully we can instill some values, some characteristic traits that will not only help them be successful on the field, but in the classroom and in the community and be successful citizens in life... that's the most important thing."

Dubose replaces Les Sanders, who resigned last month.
