Flood Damage Assessment Underway in Selma and Dallas Co.

By George McDonald

Officials in the Selma and Dallas County area continue to assess the amount of damage caused by last week's flash flooding.

Hundreds people attended two meetings organized for flood victims to document any damage to their property caused by the flood.

Remnants from Hurricane Isaac dumped nearly a foot of rain on the area about a week ago-- causing flash flooding all over town.

"My car got soaked inside, the carpet, the seats and all, and I been trying to clean it out for the smell and it's not doing any good," said flood victim Lela Underwood.

Officials say residents can also report damage by calling the Dallas County EMA office at (334) 874-2515.
