Last year they brought Sarah Palin to the River Region and this year, they're bringing former President George W. Bush.
It’s for Faulkner University’s annual benefit dinner that will be held in October at the downtown Renaissance.
The school invited Bush because they admire his service for our country and think the schools values are similar to the former president's.
And just as important as the message is what the dinner is all about…raising money for students’ scholarships.
“Raising money is a difficult issue and so our benefit dinner last year just really really helped so much, and we are hoping that this will happen again this year. And we believe that it will - in fact, we might even eclipse what we did last year,” said university president, Billy Hilyer.
“We will bring people from all over the south east if not the country here to this event and anytime that they can come and we can have the economic benefit of that - but more importantly they'll have a good experience here and they'll want to tell their family, tell their friends,” said Mayor Todd Strange.
Last year, the benefit raised more than $1 million for Faulkner.
The tickets for this year's benefit go on sale Thursday at 8 am at www.faulkner.edu.

Excellent, the college prez who shot himself in the foot should get along well with the American prez who choked on a pretzel. They have something in common.
