A Montgomery family of four loses everything after a fire destroys their apartment...
Around 8:30 a.m. fire marshals responded to an apartment fire in the Gibbs Village community. The fire was contained to one room and did not spread to the other apartments.
One of the residents was treated for a leg injury after jumping from eight to ten feet. No other injuries were reported. The unit was home to four people.
"The only thing I can hear is my children just calling me... they were like 'Mama! Mama! Mama! Mama! And I really couldn't get to them and the smoke was just, so thick and I finally had found where they were in the house and I had got all my kids and I went towards my bedroom and we had let the window up and we had climbed up the window," Said Felicia Smith.
Firefighters are still trying to investigate the cause of the fire. If you'd like to help this family, you can donate to the Montgomery Red Cross by calling 800-733-2767
