"Doughnut Wars" Could Be Coming to Montgomery

By CBS 8 News

National doughnut chain Dunkin' Donuts is coming to Montgomery, which could provide the recipe for "doughnut wars" with longtime staple Krispy Kreme.

The Dunkin Donuts location is under construction near the corner of Vaughn and Taylor Roads.

Meanwhile, the Krispy Kreme on Atlanta Highway is adding a drive thru which is expected to be complete by Monday. It will be open 24 hours and the rest of the building will be expanded.

"Krispy Kreme's been here for 35 years and we ain't going nowhere. We done run Dunkin' Donuts out of here one time. We're not worried about this," Krispy Kreme general manager Scott Wilson told CBS 8 News.

Dunkin Donuts is expected to open sometime this fall.

If you like AIR, then you'll love Krispy Kreme. If you want a REAL donut, then Dunkin' is the place to go. After all, there are far more Dunkin's around the US than Krispy's, that should tell you something.

I like certain things from Dunkin Donuts but they are far from the being the best. Lol! If you stop and think about it, there is no one that can touch Krispy Kremes glazed donut and the freshness of most of their donuts. Dunkin doesn't make donuts all day long like Krispy Kreme does to make sure you are getting only the freshest. They bake at specific times.
