Despite Rain, Prattville Cityfest Kicks Off

By Ellis Eskew

Despite a few showers, Prattville kicks off it's 27th annual Cityfest.

The Tip Tops band got things started off as they set the mood for the evening. And folks came with their dancing shoes ready for a good time.

It was a family affair for all ages.

Floss McCallion says, "I have 7 kids and 7 grandkids all down here in Prattville. We are Prattville people! You have to participate and its good fun!"

If it was food you were craving, then you came to the right place. Just about anything and everything you could want was hot off the grill.

Cornelius Smith was raising money for his youth football team.

"We got hot catfish, we got hot tilapia...your tater chips.. candy drinks," said Smith.

From live music, food and games for the whole family, Prattville Cityfest 2013 got off to a great start.

Prattvile Cityfest will go on Saturday from 9am-5pm. Admission is 2 dollars, 1 dollar with military ID. Kids under 5 get in free.
