Dallas County Voters Pass Sunday Alcohol Sales

By George McDonald

Dallas County voters overwhelmingly pass the referendum to allow Sunday alcohol sales in the county by a nearly two to one margin.

Alcoholic beverages can now be sold and dispensed within the county on Sunday from 12:00 P-M to 9:30 P-M.

Opponents of Sunday alcohol sales said increasing access to alcohol would be bad for the community but people in favor of Sunday alcohol sales say it will mean more tax dollars for the county.

Election officials will canvass the results and certify the election next Tuesday.
