The Dallas County deputy that saved the life of a seven month old baby gets a commendation from Governor Robert Bentley.
Sergeant David Odom was able to prevent the child from choking to death back in July -- after stopping to help the child's grandmother.
Governor Bentley called Odom's actions heroic -- and said it's important to honor those who unselfishly devote themselves to public service.
"I feel good about the whole situation. I'm glad I was there to help and I'm glad my family's here today to help celebrate this event," said Odom.
