Dallas Co. Grand Jury Hands Down Three Murder Indictments

From the West Alabama Newsroom-- A Dallas County grand jury indicts three people for murder in three separate cases.

Carl Brown of Selma was indicted for the murder of Julius Burnett of Clanton.

Burnett's body was found on a secluded road in Dallas County on New Year's Day.

Investigators say they traced the use of Burnett's credit cards after his death to Brown.


Jody Baldwin of Sardis was indicted for the murder of Demetrius Johnson of Selma.

Johnson was found dead in a cotton field back in February.

He had been shot several times.


Elizabeth Diane Blount of Selma was indicted for the murder of her boyfriend-- Joseph Callines of Selma.

Police say Blount shot and killed Callines during an argument in May.
