A Dadeville man is in jail on multiple gambling-related charges stemming from three "Internet cafes" that investigators say he and a Georgia couple owned in Florida.
Agents from the U.S. Secret Service and Dadeville police arrested 58-year-old Samuel Keeble at his home without incident March 12. He is in the Tallapoosa County Jail awaiting a hearing for possible extradition to Florida. He does not yet have an attorney, but he told police it was a case of mistaken identity.
Being sought are Gary Wayne Davis and Diane Davis of Hogansville, Ga. Authorities say they were partners in the enterprises that officials called a "sophisticated racketeering and money laundering scheme."
The indictments were revealed in the joint Florida state and federal investigation of a charity that was supposed to be helping veterans.
